Oh boy, this one was difficult to work on, and I’m still not sure how I feel about it.
A little background here. I’ve been reworking Sebille’s character a lot over the past six months, and I’ve finally made some progress. After realizing just how much I hate the barrier maiden archetype, I knew that Sebille’s prior purpose had to go. Besides, Halen is already a spell caster, so her former abilities made their “team” very unbalanced.
Now Sebille is still a priestess, but she is also a melee oriented character. I’m committed to the idea of her having a broadsword since her homeland is very loosely based on Scotland. The problem is that Death Seed takes place in a time that it much like our own history’s Bronze Age when it was just beginning to fade into the Iron Age. Having its own world, though, I don’t know how to go about the armor at all.
This was my first attempt. I’m pretty sure that I want Sebille to wear leather armor of some kind, but I still wanted there to be sense of weight. Thus, I tried a studded leather design. While I don’t really care for the lower half, I do like the design for the torso. The issue I have with it, though, is that it looks too clean, especially the seams, and structured for something that would come out of the end of the Bronze Age.
I’m probably going to go down to the library to find more references, but this is where it’s starting anyway.
